Joe Biden

I learned this week that Joe Biden has a net worth of ~$100,000, one of the lowest in the Senate. He has been a senator for 25 years and makes $300,000+ per year. I don't understand how he can only be worth that little. He's 65 years old - no wonder he's so interested in keeping social security well funded b/c he's going to be dependent on it! He has a mortgage and loans for his kids college and such - why doesn't he listen to Dave Ramsey and pay those off? Some have said that this goes against the elitist attack from McCain's campaign. Perhaps they should attack him on how he's a bad money manager.

Do you think he is going to kick Palin's butt in the debates? The international news is saying yes...but we'll see. She is a great speaker, but how is she on facts, ideas, especially on foreign policy?

I actually think she will do ok in the debates. I think she will appeal even more to the average American when seen in contrast to the politician Biden who can be downright mean. He definitely has the edge on foreign policy but it seems her appeal is her average-ness and I think she can be filled in on the necessary fact. But we'll see!

So you're saying that her "Sarahness" (see... "You, Me, and Dupree") is one of her greatest assets? You may be right. There is little appealing about Biden,I'm still baffled by Obama's choice of Biden. I think he comes across as arrogant and stiff in interviews and debates. I think she's got a good shot of doing well in the debates.
